Alas Pilipinas vies for SEA V-League title ahead of SEA Games

Alas Pilipinas will compete in the 2025 SEA V-League Leg 1 in Thailand, their last major tournament before the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in December.

The team aims to improve on last year's bronze medal finishes and will feature key players such as Bella Belen, Alyssa Solomon, Angel Canino, and team captain Jia de Guzman.

However, Filipino-American players Brooke Van Sickle, MJ Phillips, and Tia Andaya are still awaiting federation transfer clearance.

The roster also includes Adamson's Shaina Nitura and Cla Loresco, outside hitters Eya Laure and Vanie Gandler, middle blocker Dell Palomata, setter Mars Alba, and defenders Justine Jazareno and Dawn Macandili-Catindig.

The Philippines opens its campaign against defending champion and host Thailand on August 1 at 6 p.m., followed by matches against Vietnam on August 2 and Indonesia on August 3.

Following the first leg, Alas Pilipinas will travel to Vietnam for the second leg, facing Vietnam on August 8, Thailand on August 9, and Indonesia on August 10.
