Air Force reservists donate medical equipment to Tawi-Tawi island hospitals

Reservists from the Air Force Wing Reserve Command and the Armed Forces of the Philippines donated crucial medical equipment, including portable laboratory equipment and telemedicine setup, to two island hospitals in Tawi-Tawi.

This initiative aims to improve healthcare access for residents in frontier communities like Mapun and Taganak.

The donation ceremonies were led by officials including Romero, OIC Wing Commander of the 2nd Air Force Wing Reserve Command and ARRAPI Chair, and Brigadier General Romulo Quemado II, Acting Commander of WestMinCom.

This effort is part of the 'Last Mile' donation program.

In a separate but related initiative, former Deputy House Speaker Michael 'Mikee' Romero also donated a brand-new hemodialysis machine to Our Lady of Peace Hospital (OLPH) in Parañaque, in partnership with the World Surgical Foundation Philippines.

This donation to OLPH, which aims to serve indigent patients with a no-balance-billing policy, comes amid a reported surge in dialysis cases nationwide, including among younger individuals.
