Sen. Bong Go expands 'Palugaw ni Mr. Malasakit' to Visayas, Mindanao

Senator Christopher 'Bong' Go's 'Palugaw ni Mr. Malasakit' initiative, which provides meals and support to patients, caregivers, and healthcare workers, has expanded beyond Metro Manila to Visayas and Mindanao.

The program, active from 8 to 13 September, visited ten public hospitals in the capital, including Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center and Philippine General Hospital.

Go inaugurated a halfway house at Quirino Memorial Medical Center (QMMC) in Quezon City, offering temporary shelter to patients and their families from distant provinces.

The halfway house concept originated in Davao during Mayor Duterte's administration, and Go has since expanded it to other locations, including QMMC.

Go emphasized that the initiative aims to alleviate the burden on patients and their families by providing both nourishment and temporary housing during medical treatment.
