80% of Filipinos want VP Sara Duterte impeached: OCTA poll

A July 2025 OCTA Research poll found that 80% of Filipinos believe Vice President Sara Duterte should face an impeachment trial.

This survey, conducted from July 12 to 17, predates the Supreme Court's declaration that the filing of impeachment articles against Duterte was unconstitutional.

The Supreme Court's ruling cited procedural lapses in the House of Representatives and did not absolve Duterte of the allegations.

Support for the impeachment trial was highest in the Visayas at 92%, followed by Metro Manila at 87%, the rest of Luzon at 77%, and Mindanao at 69%.

Conversely, Mindanao recorded the highest opposition to the trial at 30%, with other regions showing lower percentages of disapproval.

Respondents who supported the trial primarily believed Duterte should have the chance to address accusations and prove her worthiness for office.

Those who opposed the trial largely viewed it as a politically motivated conflict between the camps of the Vice President and the President.
