7 Chinese nationals apprehended for illegal operations

Seven Chinese nationals, identified as Kang Yinxi, Wei Jiarui, Zhuang Chugen, Guo Yibin, Lin Zongsen, Liu Xinfu, and Chen Min, are now in the custody of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) following their apprehension by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

The foreigners, aged 30-45, were intercepted on September 15 aboard the M/V Sangko Uno at the Navotas City port for allegedly operating unlawfully within Philippine waters without proper documentation.

The suspects were turned over to the BI on September 20, initiating deportation proceedings, and have since been transferred to the BI's facility in Bicutan, Taguig City.

Cases for unlawful entry and immigration violations have been filed against the individuals during inquest and preliminary investigation at the BI.

BI Officer-in-Charge Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado condemned the disregard for immigration laws and vowed a more aggressive stance against illegal alien activities.

BI Intelligence Division Chief Fortunato Manahan Jr. stated that the suspects were attempting to exploit the country's maritime borders, and their illegal activities were thwarted by the PCG's swift action.
