BI intercepts 3 Chinese men for alleged theft in PAL flight
Three Chinese nationals were intercepted at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 for allegedly stealing a handbag containing approximately PHP63,000 from a Philippine Airlines flight.
The suspects, Lyu Shuiming, Xu Xianpu, and Xie Xiaoyong, were apprehended on September 15 after a flight attendant caught them in the act of stealing from the overhead bin.
The handbag belonged to a female judge who was traveling with two lawyers on a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Manila.
While Lyu Shuiming was arrested by the PNP Aviation Security Group as he possessed a valid visa, Xu Xianpu and Xie Xiaoyong were permitted to board an outbound flight.
The Bureau of Immigration expressed gratitude to the airline staff and the PNP for their swift action and vowed to monitor the case, blacklisting any other accomplices.
