38 labs submit COVID-19 reports to DOH

As of June 1, 38 out of 42 certified and operational laboratories nationwide have submitted complete line lists and daily accomplishment reports to the Department of Health (DOH).

The four remaining laboratories are expected to submit their reports by Thursday, which will allow the DOH to validate all remaining cases and clear backlogs.

Once all reports are received, only 'fresh' cases, meaning test results released within three days, will be reported daily.

Previously, the DOH announced it would stop reporting 'late' COVID-19 cases, defined as those with results released four days or longer, until all laboratories submitted their data.

The DOH Epidemiology Bureau's thorough validation process was previously cited as the reason for the surge in reported 'late' cases.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire noted a significant increase in daily accomplishment reports submitted on June 1 compared to May 31.
