3 PNP-ACG cops relieved over CCTV tampering during POGO raid

Three police officers from the Philippine National Police-Anti Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) have been relieved from their posts following a raid at a suspected Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) hub in Manila.

The officers are under investigation for allegedly tampering with CCTV cameras in a hallway during a post-raid investigation on October 31.

Reports indicate the officers moved and covered the cameras while shirtless due to the extreme heat inside the building.

The building's air conditioning and elevator systems were intentionally turned off, forcing the raiding team to ascend to the 23rd floor.

PNP ACG chief Maj. Gen. Ronnie Francis Cariaga stated that while the welfare of officers is considered, such actions will not be tolerated and sanctions will be imposed if they are found liable.

The three officers are facing administrative proceedings and are currently under the jurisdiction of the Personnel Holding and Accounting Section (PHAS) of the ACG.
