PAGASA warns of danger level heat index in 27 areas on Monday

PAGASA forecasts a "danger level" heat index, ranging from 42°C to 45°C, in 27 areas across the Philippines on Monday, May 19, 2025.

The highest heat index of 45°C is expected in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, and Aparri, Cagayan.

Several locations in Luzon, including Laoag City, Tuguegarao City, and various parts of Ilocos Norte, Cagayan, Isabela, Cavite, and Camarines Sur, will experience a 44°C heat index.

Other areas such as Batac, Aurora, Olongapo City, Tarlac, Batangas, Quezon, and Palawan are predicted to have a heat index of 43°C.

Additionally, Metro Manila areas like NAIA Pasay and Science Garden Quezon City, along with locations in Ilocos Sur, La Union, Aurora, Zambales, Bulacan, Occidental Mindoro, Camarines Norte, Albay, Iloilo, and Northern Samar, will face a 42°C heat index.

PAGASA defines a "danger level" heat index as temperatures between 42°C and 51°C, where heat cramps and heat exhaustion are likely, and heat stroke is probable with continued exposure.
