The FIVB Men's World Volleyball Championship is set to begin on September 12, with the opening match featuring Alas Pilipinas against a Wassim Ben Tara-less Tunisia.

The 32-nation tournament will run from September 12 to September 28, with games held at both the SM Mall of Asia Arena and the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Alas Pilipinas is undergoing closed-door training led by Italian mentor Angiolino Frigoni in preparation for their historic participation.
