2 UP Diliman faculty tagged as PUIs after Japan trip

Two faculty members of the University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD) have been declared persons under investigation (PUIs) for possible exposure to the novel coronavirus after attending a conference in Japan.

The faculty members were tested on March 10 and were declared PUIs by the UP Diliman Health Service (UPHS) after exhibiting fever and respiratory symptoms.

UPHS Director Jesusa Catabui stated that all necessary protocols for isolation and disinfection were followed.

The UP System has been implementing a general protocol since February, advising constituents with potential exposure to seek consultation and health assessments.

Contact tracing identified individuals who had close contact with the PUIs, and these persons are now under home quarantine as persons under monitoring (PUMs).

UPD has also initiated disinfection procedures for all buildings visited by the PUIs.
