2 NBP PDL escapees killed, 2 remain at large

Four persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) escaped from the maximum security compound of the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) on Monday, January 17, 2022.

Two of the escapees, Pacifico Adlawan and Arwin Bio, were killed during manhunt operations.

Drakilou Falcon, who has pending cases of double murder and robbery, remains at large and a P100,000 reward has been offered for his arrest.

Chris Ablas, convicted of robbery with homicide, is also still missing and is considered the fourth escapee, though the Bureau of Correction (BuCor) is still confirming if he escaped during the coordinated incident.

The escape resulted in injuries to three jail guards and one inmate, who were treated at Ospital ng Muntinlupa.

The BuCor has placed the Maximum Security Compound on lockdown as recovery efforts continue.

Senate President Vicente C. Sotto III cited the incident to support his proposed law creating a separate facility for heinous crimes convicts, which has passed both chambers of Congress.
