Two missing OFWs in Hong Kong found safe after hiking trip

The Philippine consulate general in Hong Kong confirmed that two missing overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), Imee Mahilum Pabuaya, 24, and Aleli Perez Tibay, 33, have been found safe after not returning to their employers' residences following a hiking trip on October 4.

The two women were located on Thursday night and brought to a Hong Kong police station before being picked up by the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) personnel.

They have undergone a welfare check, including psychosocial counseling and a medical checkup, at the MWO.

Department of Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac stated that the department is gathering more details and expects a written account from the two.

Both OFWs have had their employment contracts terminated by their employers, and they are scheduled to meet with them to explain the incident and negotiate their return to work while retrieving their belongings.
