115,000 PUV drivers receive fuel subsidy

Around 115,000 public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers and operators have received their P6,500 fuel subsidy since distribution began on March 15, 2022.

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) confirmed that these beneficiaries received the subsidy through LandBank, which is continuously producing cards for approximately 140,000 more beneficiaries.

The government has allocated P2.5 billion for the subsidy, with P1.75 billion intended for PUV drivers and operators under LTFRB, P625 million for tricycle drivers under the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), and P125 million for delivery services under the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

The LTFRB anticipates distributing more cards to beneficiaries by next week.
