10 repatriated OFWs test positive for COVID-19 in Davao City

Ten repatriated Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who arrived in Davao City this month have tested positive for COVID-19.

Of the 138 OFWs who arrived from Dhaka, Bangladesh on July 15, three tested positive.

Additionally, seven out of 350 OFWs from Dubai, UAE, who arrived on July 18, also contracted the virus.

All 10 infected OFWs have been transferred to a designated Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility (TTMF).

Some of these OFWs are asymptomatic, while others are experiencing mild symptoms or require medical attention.

Mayor Sara Duterte stated that the city is accepting international repatriation flights under strict "bubble wrap" protocols.

Repatriates are housed in designated isolation hotels and undergo necessary COVID-19 processing to prevent further spread.
