ASEAN

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is a regional intergovernmental organization comprising ten Southeast Asian countries, working together to promote economic, political, and cultural cooperation. As the Philippines assumes the ASEAN chairmanship in 2026, it aims to strengthen regional unity, address security and economic challenges, and advance initiatives in trade, maritime cooperation, and sustainable development. The Philippines is also focusing on legal frameworks, such as the new extradition treaty, to enhance regional stability and combat transnational crime.
