ZUS Coffee beats Capital1 in five-set PVL match

ZUS Coffee secured its first win of the PVL on Tour by narrowly defeating Capital1 Solar Spikers in a five-set match at the Ynares Center Montalban on Sunday.

Veteran spiker Jovelyn Gonzaga delivered crucial plays late in the game, including the final kill that sealed ZUS Coffee's victory after a nearly two-and-a-half-hour battle.

AC Miner led ZUS Coffee with 18 points, followed by Kate Santiago and Gonzaga with 17 and 14 markers respectively, while rookie Fiola Ceballos contributed significantly in the decisive set.

Capital1's Trisha Genesis put up a strong performance with 23 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome ZUS Coffee’s resilience; Shola Alvarez added 22 points for Capital1.

ZUS Coffee improved its record to 1-1 following their loss to Akari on Saturday, while Capital1 fell to 0-4 in the competition due to unforced errors and missed opportunities.
