Zus Coffee advances to PVL on Tour quarters, eliminates Chery Tiggo

Zus Coffee defeated Chery Tiggo in a five-set thriller at the PVL on Tour quarterfinals qualifier match in Candon City, Ilocos Sur on Tuesday.

The victory secured Zus Coffee's place in the knockout stage while eliminating Chery Tiggo from advancing outright to the quarters; Creamline also booked an automatic quarterfinal berth due to superior points.

Clo Mondoñedo led Zus Coffee with 36 excellent sets and AC Miner contributed significantly with 19 points including four blocks, while Chery Tiggo was paced by Renee Penafiel who scored 19 points but it wasn't enough to prevent the loss.

Zus Coffee's resilience and consistency were highlighted by their coach Jerry Yee, emphasizing that despite still having work to do, the team showed fighting spirit throughout the match.

Both teams still have a chance to enter the knockout stage starting on Saturday.
