Senate seeks vaccine doses for health staff

The Senate is seeking a share of the national government's COVID-19 vaccine supply for its health staff and employees.

Senate President Vicente Sotto III said the chamber will send a formal request to vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., following a tripartite arrangement required by the Inter-Agency Task Force.

Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri earlier disclosed that the Senate is requesting at least 5,000 doses of the Sputnik V vaccine for its 2,500 staff members.

Senator Panfilo Lacson also inquired if the Senate could receive a portion from the one million Sinovac doses already available and set to arrive in the country.
