Zambales reports 14 new COVID-19 cases at PMMA

At least 14 people at the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA) in Zambales tested positive for COVID-19 on August 29.

Provincial Health Director Dr Noel Bueno reported that mass testing of over 300 individuals inside the academy revealed these cases, with many patients residing outside Zambales.

Zambales also reported an additional 55 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 324. Of these, 169 are active cases, 154 have recovered, and one person has died.

The Philippines' national tally reached 217,396 confirmed cases as of Sunday, with 157,403 recoveries and 3,520 deaths.
