Filipino Olympians celebrated with heroes' parade in Manila

On Wednesday, Filipino Olympians who competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics were celebrated with a heroes' parade.

The event took place in Manila and Pasay, where Carlos Yulo, a double gold medalist gymnast, led the procession on a float adorned with Olympic rings.

Other athletes such as Aira Villegas and Nesthy Petecio joined him in the celebration.

Thousands of Filipinos lined the streets to cheer for their Olympians, waving flags and cheering them on during the 7.7km parade.

Helicopters from the Philippine Air Force also dropped confetti along the route.
