Northern Mindanao to start Covid-19 testing next week

Testing centers for Covid-19 will begin operating next week in Northern Mindanao.

Dr. Adriano Suba-an, DOH 10 director, said two testing facilities at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and the tuberculosis reference center would open between Saturday and Tuesday after receiving testing cartridges from Manila.

The local Philippine Red Cross office and Polymedic Medical Plaza are also designated as testing sites.

Two testing machines provided by the city government have been installed at the DOH-10 laboratory, while NMMC received a license to operate on May 13.

Testing facilities must pass five stages of accreditation before full-scale implementation can begin, including proficiency training and confirmation of positive samples by RITM.
