Wescom ready to refurbish BRP Sierra Madre

Wescom commander Vice Admiral Alberto Carlos says the Western Command is ready to comply with requirements for refurbishing the BRP Sierra Madre.

Senators Risa Hontiveros and Juan Miguel Zubiri have proposed refurbishing the ship, which is currently grounded at Ayungin Shoal.

Zubiri supports the proposal, stating that it would help reinforce Philippine presence in the area and protect against potential threats.
