Eight Luzon dams see water levels drop due to high temps

Water levels in eight dams across Luzon have dropped below their normal highs due to persistent high temperatures, with Angat Dam in Bulacan at 206.96 meters, down by 5.04 meters from its normal level.

San Roque Dam posted the biggest decrease of 33.83 meters, recording a water level of 246.17 meters compared to its normal high of 280 meters.

Other affected dams include Pantabangan in Bulacan at 200.69 meters (down by 20.31 meters), Ambuklao and Binga in Benguet, Magat in Isabela, Ipo in Bulacan, La Mesa in Quezon City, and Caliraya in Laguna.

The situation highlights the ongoing challenges faced by water management authorities as they work to maintain adequate supplies amid persistent high temperatures.
