W. Visayas logs record-high 63 recoveries, 17 new cases

Western Visayas reported 63 new recoveries on Friday, bringing the total number of recovered patients in the region to 345.

The majority of the new recoveries were locally stranded individuals (LSIs) with 55 cases and eight returning overseas Filipino workers (ROFs).

A two-month-old baby from Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental was among the new recoveries.

Additionally, Western Visayas recorded 17 new confirmed Covid-19 cases on Friday, increasing the total number of positive cases to 716 with 405 active cases.

On Wednesday, a 80-year-old male patient from Iloilo City died due to complications related to the virus, bringing the region's death toll to 12.

The previous day, Western Visayas reported 34 recoveries and 19 new confirmed cases of Covid-19.
