VP Sara Duterte rejects impeachment criticisms, warns against Tingog party-list vote

Vice President Sara Duterte refused to respond to criticisms from Tingog party-list Representative Jude Acidre regarding her use of confidential funds and upcoming impeachment trial.

Acidre accused Duterte of misplaced confidence in defending herself against the impeachment case without fully explaining the use of millions in confidential funds within 11 days.

Duterte stated that she chooses not to explain matters to House members, particularly Speaker Martin Romualdez, who she believes is behind Acidre's criticisms.

The Vice President urged Filipinos not to vote for the Tingog party-list during the upcoming midterm elections as a way of supporting her.

On February 5, the House of Representatives impeached Duterte on charges including betrayal of public trust and graft, with over 200 lawmakers endorsing the complaint.
