VP Duterte: Father leaves fate to God amid ICC charges

Vice President Sara Duterte stated on Friday that her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, is leaving his fate in God's hands while facing crimes against humanity charges at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague.

During a visit to her detained father, Vice President Duterte said he told her, 'I leave it all to God,' referring to his situation and future.

When asked if her father might not return to the Philippines, she acknowledged that legal experts believe Duterte's release depends solely on ICC judges' decisions.

Duterte supporters are planning a rally in The Hague for his birthday on March 28, while the Vice President will see him this week before then.

The Vice President mentioned sending her father a birthday card and said she would ask about his thoughts and wishes during their upcoming meeting.
