Voter registration resumes in Metro Manila

Voter registration in Metro Manila and nearby provinces resumed on Monday, May 17, after these areas shifted to general community quarantine (GCQ) from strict lockdown measures.

Lines formed at Comelec offices as applicants braved the heat for registration.

Registration was suspended from March 29 to May 14 due to COVID-19 restrictions.

To make up for lost time, the Comelec extended registration days and hours in GCQ and modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) areas.

Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez advised residents to check local office schedules as they may vary by locality.
