Vingroup launches Green and Smart Mobility with 2,500 electric taxis in Metro Manila

Vietnam-based Vingroup Corporation launched Green and Smart Mobility (GSM), an all-electric taxi and transport network vehicle service in Quezon City on Tuesday, with plans to invest $500 million initially and up to $1 billion over the next three years.

An initial fleet of 2,500 electric vehicles made by VinFast will begin operating in Metro Manila within the day, aiming to create between 20,000 to 70,000 jobs once fully operational.

GSM's hybrid model of taxi services includes both manual hailing and app bookings, aligning with the Marcos administration’s goal to modernize public utility vehicles.

VinFast's parent firm Vingroup is deploying its VinFast VF 5 electric vehicle, designed for urban use with a range of up to 326 kilometers and advanced driver-assist technology.
