Villanueva slams officials for photos with dismissed mayor Guo

Senator Joel Villanueva criticized government officers for taking pictures with dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo when she was turned over by Indonesian authorities.

Villanueva described the actions as 'unprofessional' and questioned whether officers wanted to be associated with a 'treacherous fugitive', expressing disappointment during Thursday's Senate Subcommittee hearing on justice and human rights.

Photos showed NBI officers inside a van with Guo, another officer taking a selfie with her, and DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos smiling for a photo with Guo doing the peace sign.

Guo was arrested in Indonesia after leaving the Philippines in July and is expected to be brought back on Thursday by a team led by Abalos.

She has denied all allegations against her, including involvement in a POGO hub operation in Bamban, Tarlac.
