Vic Manuel leads Valientes' comeback vs. De La Salle

Former PBA player Vic Manuel and Mike Tolomia led the Zamboanga Valientes to a comeback win, defeating De La Salle University 72-68 in the third game of the Gov. Ann K. Hofer Open Invitational Basketball Tournament on Tuesday.

Manuel scored five straight points and made a crucial steal late in the fourth quarter, turning the tide for Zamboanga after they were trailing by six with just over two minutes left.

Head coach Junnie Navarro praised his veteran players' experience and composure as they secured their victory despite being behind earlier in the game.

Manuel had previously scored 17 points, including a crucial three-pointer that cut De La Salle's lead to one point, while Tolomia made a go-ahead basket following Manuel's steal.

Reflecting on his role as a veteran player, Manuel emphasized the importance of leading younger players and stepping up defensively to secure their wins.
