Philippines may start vaccination drive next week

The Philippines may start vaccinating citizens against the coronavirus next week as vaccine deliveries are expected.

Vaccine czar Carlito A. Galvez Jr. stated that the government aims to inoculate up to 70 million Filipinos by year-end, with about 10 million doses arriving this quarter through a global initiative for equal access.

This includes 117,000 Pfizer vaccine doses expected to arrive soon, and the goal is to achieve herd immunity by vaccinating between 70 to 80 million Filipino adults.
