Galvez: General public vaccination may start in August

The Philippines aims to begin vaccinating the general adult population by August if steady vaccine deliveries are received.

Galvez stated during a Palace briefing on Thursday that vaccinations for priority groups under categories A4 and A5 may commence by June, with the general populace potentially starting in August or September.

Earlier projections had suggested May or July start dates, but recent expectations of increased vaccine supply from five manufacturers have shifted the timeline to August.

By August, Galvez expects 15 million to 20 million doses to arrive, following 10.3 million doses in June and 13.5 million more in July.
