UST ends NU's 11-year streak with Game 1 win

UST defeated NU, 76-72, in Game 1 of the UAAP Season 86 women's basketball Finals on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The victory ended UST's 11-year losing streak against NU and their overall 20-game losing streak to the seven-time champions.

UST's strong defense led to 27 points off 23 turnovers by NU, with Kent Pastrana leading all scorers for UST with 15 points, six rebounds, four steals, and an assist.

Tacky Tacatac contributed crucial points in the fourth quarter, including key three-pointers that helped maintain UST's lead.

NU veteran player Camille Clarin scored 18 points, five rebounds, and six assists but could not prevent her team from losing.
