US provides P139-M for PH COVID-19 response

The US government has committed USD2.7 million (over PHP139 million) to support the Philippines' Department of Health in its fight against COVID-19.

The assistance will be implemented through USAID's on-the-ground partners who have been supporting DOH to strengthen systems for infection control and establishing infectious disease threat prevention strategies.

Part of the aid focuses on enhancing specimen transport systems, laboratory capacity for accurate case detection, protecting health workers with hygiene products and masks, and improving waste management.
