DOH apologizes for UK variant case mix-up

The DOH apologized to Cebuanos for mistakenly tagging a case of the UK COVID-19 variant as being from Liloan, Cebu, when it was actually from Parañaque City.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire explained that the error was based on the patient's reported address in their case investigation form.

DOH Region 7 clarified that the patient had left Cebu in November to process requirements as an OFW and never returned, testing positive for the variant in Manila on January 17.
