Fikes leaves UE after two seasons to return to Canada; Maga follows suit

Devin Fikes is leaving the University of the East (UE) after two seasons to return to school in Canada.

Fikes announced his decision on Instagram, expressing gratitude towards UE for their support during his time there and clarifying that he will not transfer to another Philippine collegiate team.

Rainer Maga also moved from UE to the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons, following Fikes' departure.

Fikes joined UE in 2023 along with brothers Hunter and Jack Cruz-Dumont under coach Jack Santiago.

In his final season, UE finished fifth in the UAAP standings, narrowly missing a Final Four appearance despite Fikes' contributions.

The basketball team now faces additional challenges following the departures of both Maga and Fikes.
