Two recent school shootings leave victims, prompt suspensions

In recent weeks, shooting incidents inside and outside schools in the Philippines have alarmed the public.

At Balabagan Trade School in Lanao Del Sur, teacher Danilo was shot by a student wearing a hoodie and later died on arrival at the hospital.

The suspect, identified as Allen, is now in custody after being found three days later with help from his sibling; he claims the shooting was not related to his grade but due to feelings of humiliation.

In another incident at Santa Rosa Integrated School in Nueva Ecija on August 7, Menard shot and killed his former girlfriend Zhane before taking his own life, driven by perceived neglect and unresolved emotional issues.

Both schools have suspended classes following the tragic events, highlighting growing safety concerns among educators and students.
