Tropical Depression Paeng forms; shear line brings rain

A low pressure area (LPA) inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility developed into Tropical Depression Paeng on Wednesday morning, October 26.

Paeng is currently located 855 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas with maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h and gustiness up to 55 km/h.

While Paeng remains far from land, its trough or extension has been causing rain in the Visayas and Mindanao since Tuesday morning.

PAGASA warned that a shear line is also affecting parts of Luzon, leading to moderate to heavy rains with occasional intense rainfall in some regions.
