Trillanes warns impeachment against VP Sara Duterte imminent

Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV believes an impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte is imminent due to her recent outburst and behavior.

Trillanes criticized Duterte's threatening statements as a 'red flag' and questioned her fitness for office, emphasizing the potential risk if she were to assume presidential powers in emergency situations.

During an ambush interview on Wednesday at the Batasang Pambansa complex, Trillanes reiterated that Duterte's demeanor is not fit for someone who can become president, especially considering recent threats against key government officials.

Despite her later claim that her comments were taken out of context, Duterte faces a House panel inquiry regarding the budget use of her office and the Department of Education under her leadership.

Trillanes warned that Duterte's behavior could terrify Filipinos if she were to assume presidential powers due to emergency circumstances and suggested that an impeachment complaint against Duterte is necessary given her alleged psychiatric issues.

He also emphasized that removing Duterte from her position is crucial as her recent actions demonstrate a lack of mental stability, making it imperative for the public to be concerned about her potential to hold the presidency.
