DILG: Tricycles, pedicabs still banned on national highways

The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has clarified that tricycles and pedicabs are still banned on national highways despite earlier statements by Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.

Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya, DILG spokesperson, stated that the ban was in place before the pandemic for public safety reasons.

Roque initially announced that sidecars would be allowed to address transport shortages but later retracted this statement after consultation with Interior Secretary Eduardo Año.
