TRB eyes implementing SMC’s NALEX, SALEX by Q1 2025

The Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) expects to implement at least three proposed toll road projects by San Miguel Corp. (SMC) in 2025.

These projects include the P148.3 billion Northern Access Link Expressway (NALEX), the P152.4 billion Southern Access Link Expressway (SALEX), and Segment 1 of the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) TR5, valued at P28.15 billion.

TRB Executive Director Alvin A. Carullo said SMC is completing the final engineering designs for NALEX and SALEX with plans to submit them for approval by the first quarter of 2025.

Implementation could begin immediately after securing a notice to proceed, with an expectation of starting three or four projects in 2025.

However, the Pasig River Expressway (PAREX) project is delayed due to realignment issues with the government's Pasig River Esplanade initiative.
