Toll operators endorse cashless system starting March 15

The country's major toll expressway operators have endorsed the reimplementation of cashless or contactless toll collection starting March 15.

San Miguel Corp. Infrastructure, Metro Pacific Tollways Corp., MCX Tollway Inc., Bases Conversion and Development Authority, Philippine Reclamation Authority, and PEA Tollway Corp. issued a joint statement supporting the Department of Transportation's initiative.

The policy aims to ease traffic congestion at toll plazas, enhance safety for motorists, and optimize expressway operations.

According to the latest data from the Toll Regulatory Board, 97% of expressway users already use an Electronic Toll Collection Device or RFID sticker.

Toll concessionaires encourage the remaining 3% of cash-paying drivers to switch to RFID for a faster and more efficient toll experience.

Motorists are advised to update their contact information and utilize official RFID mobile apps for account management.
