Tolentino re-elected POC chief, hosts party

Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Abraham 'Bambol' Tolentino celebrated his re-election and hosted a fellowship and Christmas party for national sports association leaders at the Hotel Okura Manila in Pasay City.

Tolentino thanked POC members for their dedication, hard work, and unity, which have contributed to Philippine sports successes, including historic gold medals from Hidilyn Diaz-Naranjo and Carlos Yulo.

During the recent elections on November 29, Tolentino received 45 out of 61 possible votes in Olympic cycle elections, defeating baseball chief Chito Loyzaga.

Notable attendees included Olympic boxing medalists Nesthy Petecio and Eumir Felix Marcial, as well as representatives from karate, table tennis, volleyball, gymnastics, cycling, and other disciplines.

Tolentino emphasized the commitment to furthering the Olympic motto 'Faster, Higher, Stronger-Together' and expressed gratitude for overcoming challenges and celebrating victories together.

He also highlighted the importance of unity and teamwork in striving for greater heights in Philippine sports.
