PSA holds annual awards night on Jan 27 to honor Filipino athletes

The Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) will hold its annual Awards Night on January 27, 2025, at The Manila Hotel to celebrate the achievements in Philippine sports in 2024.

Carlos Yulo's double gold medal performance in gymnastics and Hidilyn Diaz's Olympic breakthrough from four years ago highlight a memorable year for Filipino athletes, with boxing bronze medalists Nesthy Petecio and Aira Villegas also receiving recognition.

The event will honor past Olympians as the country commemorates 100 years of participation in the Summer Games, and Lydia De Vega, a track and field legend, will be inducted into the PSA Hall of Fame.

Awards such as Athlete of the Year, Executive of the Year, NSA of the Year, and special recognitions for junior athletes like the Tony Siddayao Awards and MILO Awards will also be presented during the ceremony.

The program will include a tribute to Filipino personalities who passed away in 2024.
