TNT wins 2nd straight PBA cup in OT victory

TNT Tropang GIGA clinched their second consecutive PBA Commissioner's Cup title with an 87-83 overtime victory over Barangay Ginebra in Game 7 on Friday night before a crowd of 21,274 fans at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson led TNT with 25 points and 12 rebounds, while Glenn Khobuntin hit the crucial three-pointer that gave TNT a six-point lead in overtime.

Barangay Ginebra head coach Tim Cone acknowledged after the game that TNT deserved the title more than his team did, praising their clutch plays down the stretch.

Rey Nambatac contributed 22 points, and Jamie Malonzo sealed the victory with free throws.

TNT's win marks their 11th overall title and sets them up for a possible Grand Slam after also winning the first two conferences of the season.

Ginebra led the series 3-2 but fell in Games 6 and 7 despite holding a six-point lead late in the fourth quarter, needing a heroic three-pointer from Justin Brownlee to force overtime.
