Tim Cone agrees to Gilas job after RSA convinces him

Interim Gilas Pilipinas head coach Tim Cone agreed to take the job after being convinced by San Miguel Corporation (SMC) president Ramon Ang.

Cone initially stated he would not want to coach the national team following Chot Reyes' departure, but changed his mind due to Ang's special request.

During a press conference, Cone expressed that succeeding Reyes was never on his agenda as they have worked together for decades.
