Eight out of eleven Alyansa lead pre-election

According to the latest pre-election survey by Social Weather Stations released on Wednesday, eight out of eleven candidates from the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas coalition are in the statistical winning circle ahead of the May 12 midterm elections.

ACT-CIS party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo leads with 45 percent voter preference, followed by former Senate president Vicente Sotto III at 37 percent and Senator Lito Lapid at 34 percent.

The survey also shows that non-Alyansa candidates such as Senator Christopher Go are tied for second place overall with 43 percent support, while independent broadcaster Ben Tulfo is in the statistical winning circle with 34 percent voter preference.

Among Alyansa-aligned bets outside the top twelve are former senator Manny Pacquiao and former Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos who were tied at 24 percent support each, placing them just outside the critical positions.

OCTA noted that voter turnout, changes in preference, campaign efforts, and political alliances could significantly affect the final outcome of the senatorial race.
