Tamayo leads Changwon past Seoul 76-71 in KBL finals

Carl Tamayo led the Changwon LG Sakers to a 2-0 series lead over the Seoul SK Knights in their Korean Basketball League (KBL) finals with back-to-back high-scoring performances.

Tamayo scored another game-high 27 points on Wednesday, May 7, helping Changwon secure a 76-71 victory despite Juan Gomez de Liano's career-best 19-point performance for Seoul.

Despite Gomez de Liano’s strong showing off the bench after missing Game 1, Tamayo and his teammates managed to hold off Seoul’s late surge in the fourth quarter.

Assem Marei supported Changwon with a double-double of 12 points and 14 rebounds, while Jameel Warney led Seoul's scoring efforts with 17 points.

The series continues on Friday, May 9, at 6 pm Manila time, as both teams prepare for the next crucial matchup in their best-of-seven finals.
