Taka Minowa ends 3-year stint with Akari Chargers, leads to podium finishes

Japanese tactician Taka Minowa concluded his tenure with the Akari Chargers on Saturday evening after three years, marking a successful journey that included back-to-back podium finishes.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, Minowa reflected on his nearly two-year stint with the team, highlighting their transformation from a struggling squad to a competitive one and leading them to a silver medal in the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference and bronze in the All-Filipino Conference.

Minowa emphasized the importance of daily growth and belief in the process, which he said kept them motivated through challenging times.

The coach thanked his coaching staff, players, social media team, and the league for their support throughout his tenure, wishing the Chargers well as they aim to achieve their first gold medal.

Philippine Daily Inquirer reported that Tina Salak will take over as head coach of Akari, with Minowa joining his wife Jaja Santiago in her European venture.
